Svetlanov Square - one of the largest inSt. Petersburg. It is a large transport hub of the Northern capital. It intersects several large urban arteries. This is Prospekt Prospect, Engels Avenue. And also Svetlanovsky and Second Murinsky avenues. Officially, the square received its name in 1975. It is formed from a nearby plant "Svetlana", which was engaged in electrical equipment.
History of the square

But in the late 1970s, the market was nevertheless liquidated. New tram tracks were laid here. We smashed lawns and planted saplings. The area has found a modern state.
The architectural ensemble of the square
The architectural ensemble of Svetlanovskaya Square in St. Petersburg is actually formed by three buildings. They are located in a semicircle. These are houses along Engels Prospect with numbers 21, 23 and 25.
Their authors are famous Soviet architects Savkevich, Belov and Schröter. According to their design, these buildings were built in the 50s of the XX century.
Initially, a radio-technical center was located in the central building of this architectural ensemble. Today in its place opened an educational institution with a similar profile. This is an engineering school of electronics.
In the other two buildings are located tradeobjects (in the Soviet years, all of them were merged into the well-known Svetlanov Department Store), and in the other - a laboratory building, which belonged directly to the Svetlana enterprise.
