How to remove red eyes and change the color of the iris in Photoshop

And all because of the use of flash (especially in the dark or in poor light), the pupils in the pictures turn out red. What to do and how to be? Do not delete the same good photo because of these "embers" ... Therefore, the best way to remove red eyes is Photoshop.

Special function to eliminate this effectappeared in the editor only in 2005, with the release of the CS2 version. Therefore, we recommend updating the program if it is outdated. In addition, in the newer versions you can find many other interesting and useful features and effects that significantly expand the range of Photoshop applications.

But let's start with color correctionpupils. Before removing the red eyes in the photo, you need to first open it in the editor. For convenience, the picture can be increased using the function "Loupe". Next, on the toolbar, we find the Red Eye Tool (or a tool called “Red Eyes”), we hover the cursor on the pupil and click the left mouse button. Do the same with the second eye. All red disappeared.

If you are not looking for easy ways, or you shouldthe old version, the procedure of how to remove red eyes in Photoshop will be more complicated, albeit feasible. To do this, you should select the pupils with any of the tools, be it “Magnetic lasso”, “Fast selection” or “Oval region”. The latter function is even better, because it allows you to circle the pupil in a perfectly even circle. Even if you did not manage to make a stroke strictly along the contour of the pupil, there is nothing wrong with that, since you can gently move it to the right place by grabbing the cursor. You can also change its size. To reduce or increase the selected pupil, you need to go to "Edit" and select the "Free Transform" item. You will need scaling, so click on it. Before removing red eyes in Photoshop, increase or decrease the pupil by pulling the transformation frame by pulling the corner (you can pull it when the double arrow appears when you hover over the corner).

When the transformation is finished, you need toopen “Image” (in the topmost horizontal menu) and go through the following way: “Correction” - “Black and White”. In the window that appears, we begin to move the sliders until we achieve the complete disappearance of the red color on the pupils and get the black color we need. Next, click "OK".

Now you know how to remove red eyes in Photoshop. It is not so difficult. By the way, in the same way you can even change the color of the eyes in the picture. For this you need
