The modern realities of the world are the economy of time, money, resources and costs. And if only twenty or thirty years ago, the duties of the truck driver included only the transportation of cargo from one point to another, then truck drivers of our time already, as a rule, themselves forward their own cargoes. The concept of "forwarding" includes not only the safety of goods, but also the responsibility for its integrity, safety and absence of damage.
A modern driver-freight forwarder is obligedcontrol the entire process of transportation, which begins and ends with loading and unloading. One of the main tasks at the same time is correctly and correctly fix the transported luggage on the trailer of a semitrailer tractor. Invaluable assistance in this case trucker has a strap for securing cargo.
Cargo lock
You can fix the load on the trailer in different ways. The method of attachment and the type of fixation depends, as a rule, on the cargo itself and on the type of the trailer. In rigid vans of a closed frame type, as a rule, spacers or special curtains are used. But on the platform trailers both standard and low load put mainly straps tension.
For securing cargo, especially oversize andheavyweights, apply including chains. Each of these options has its advantages and disadvantages. For some types of goods only chains are used, more fragile pallets are fastened with straps. It should also be added that, for fixing the load inside the tent trailers, usually use a belt for securing the load or a combined way of fixing.
What is a belt?
Belt ties are a bayA textile tape made of polyamide, polypropylene or polyester. As additional additives or other basic material, any fabric made of strong synthetic fibers can be used. On the one hand, these couplers demonstrate excellent wear resistance, and on the other hand, they have sufficient elasticity to use the belt to secure the load as a reliable and safe way of fixing the transported utensils. With their help, they carry out both commercial and industrial transportation of all kinds of cargo, for example: building materials, lumber, rolled metal, loose goods in bags, furniture, equipment, insulating glass, building structures, prefabricated pallets, machinery and household appliances.
Characteristics
Each belt for securing cargo is selecteddriver-forwarder based on two main characteristics: its length and the limit of the applied load. Screeds also differ in width of the tape, due to the presence (absence) of the tensioning mechanism and its type. The standard length of the tape is six, eight, ten or twelve meters. Breaking load on such a clamping strap for fastening the load does not exceed 20 thousand kgs, and the width of the tape is in the standard from 25 to 150 mm. Some trading companies sell such tapes in coils of length 50, 100, 200 m and more. This option is suitable for securing the load along the length of the trailer (or semi-trailer) or for replacing worn belts, but with attachments that are still fit for service and tightening mechanisms.
Belt Tightening
However, simply tying the goods with a belt is not enough.First, the driver-forwarder needs to think carefully about the scheme of the binding of the transported luggage. Here you need to consider different factors. With severe braking, the load should not break forward and break through the cab of the towing vehicle, and on the ascent - move to the next vehicle. When driving on uneven asphalt or rough terrain, it is necessary to keep the load from any longitudinal and transverse displacement. And still there are non-standard transportations and cargoes with the displaced centers of gravity.
Secondly, the driver needs to tighten the straps so that the cargo is firmly fixed in place, eliminating its potential displacement. And here mechanisms for a belt of fastening of a cargo come to the aid.
Tensioning devices
Вариантов тут немного.You can stretch your belts with your hands using muscular strength. In this case, they are fixed on the end fasteners, i.e., rings and hooks to the sides, trawls, as well as to any other surfaces of the trailer. This type of attachment is suitable for light loads, and their transportation must be carried out on a tented platform or on a rigid trailer wagon to avoid tipping of the load itself onto the carriageway.
However, the bulk of the flow of goods carriedfixed on the straps for securing the load with a tensioning mechanism. Typically, this is a ratchet-type device with mechanical protection against unlocking, better known as a "ratchet" or "ratchet." Less popular winch and chain tensioners are almost never used.
Universality of belts
To date, the tension belt forsecuring a load with a mechanical ratchet tensioner is the most popular method of fixing the luggage being carried. In addition to drivers of heavy vehicles, they are often used by owners of passenger vehicles for the transport of large cargoes in an open way, as a rule, on the roof rack.
Truckers, too, with pleasureapply this type of attachment of goods transported. Belts firmly and reliably fix the load, while delicately compressing the load from all sides, causing minimal damage to the package. They are resistant to industrial fluids such as oil, gasoline, kerosene, various ethylene glycol antifreeze and other chemicals. Modern belts allow you to keep quite high loads at break and not to change their original length when wet or freezing, which makes it possible to use them at any time of the year and under various weather conditions.
