Like the other half passable, the fish muksun fromcoastal waters of the Arctic Ocean to the place of spawning makes many kilometers of migration. Usually, the muksun spawning begins immediately upon completion of the ice drift. Rising upstream, the muksun reaches its spawning site only by autumn (late September – early October). The spawning itself begins with the onset of the formation of the first ice (usually in October) and ends when the water temperature drops to 4aboutC (i.e., around November).

For spawning, fish muksun prefers places wherethe bottom is pebble or sandy, and the current is fairly fast. The number of eggs depends on the size of each individual individual. By the way, muksun does not come to spawn every year. During its lifetime, the fish spawn several times (usually three or four). And the fact that males become sexually mature at about ten years old, and females even later, makes the muksuna very vulnerable to humans. That is why the population of this fish needs reliable protection.
