The most interesting characters that Dostoevsky created are demons in various guises with different goals. They do not limit themselves to anything on the way to achieving the goal and are already interested in this.
In the center of the novel - a provincial provincial town.In the capacity of the narrator and participant of the events is the chronicler Mr.. He tells the story of Stepan Verkhovensky, who had a platonic relationship with the noble lady Varvara Stavroginoy. All this paints Dostoevsky in detail. "Demons" (the contents of the work can be found in any library) perfectly emphasize the tragedy of the situation.

Verkhovensky, preaching "civil role",gradually notices that the youth are going liberal-minded around him. It was this hero who educated most of the other characters in the book. Previously, he was incredibly handsome, but now he can afford to play cards and not give up alcohol, this is clearly emphasized by Dostoevsky. "Demons" originated precisely from Verkhovensky, the ruler of the minds.
The city is waiting for the arrival of Nikolai Stavrogin, sonBarbarians, which is the subject of rumors and conversations. It is known that he, having done a lot of misfortunes in the city, explained all his troubles with delirium tremens, and then drove off abroad. Varvara is concerned that Nikolay is giving attention to Darya Shatova, who is a pupil of Stavrogin.
In parallel with this, Varvara PetrovnaShe is interested in her son becoming the husband of Liza Tushina, which is why she plans to give Shatov for Stepan Trofimovich, who is her assistant. Verkhovensky is confused, but he is thinking about how to make a proposal to Daria. The confusion and helplessness that Dostoevsky demonstrates, the demons in Stepan’s soul — all this masterfully fits into the overall fabric of the narrative.

Stavrogin clarifies whether her son did not marryLebyadkina, however Nikolai does not answer the question and leaves with Marya. Verkhovensky claims that Stavrogin made the girl a serious suggestion and now she considers him to be her fiancé. Mary's brother confirms everything. Shatov gives Stavrogin a slap in the face, but he does nothing in return.
Nikolai is locked in the room and throughouteight days does not take anyone. The first in his chambers is Verkhovensky and announces the creation of a secret society. Stavrogin becomes aware that Shatov is in grave danger and even death.
Сын Варвары рассказывает Шатову о том, что он officially married to Lebyadkina and warns him about the danger. After this conversation, he goes to the brother of Mary and says that his marriage is a complete farce. The next day is marked by a duel between Stavrogin and Artemy Gaganov, which miraculously goes without victims. Meanwhile, the city is scheduled holiday dedicated to governess.

Almost all the characters of the story fall underconsequence, Nikolai Stavrogin calls Shatov in Switzerland, where he wants to live with her happily ever after. The letter falls into the hands of Varvara Petrovna, but suddenly it becomes known that Nicholas came to the Squabbles. They go there, but they arrive too late. Perhaps the most mystical work that Dostoevsky created is “Demons”, the summary of which can only encourage the reader to open this book.
