Recently everything has changed, now almost everything is dealt with this procedure: heads of large and small organizations, owners of automobile services, beauty studios, shops and even private individuals.

To solve this problem, in June 2008 the Federal Law was signed under the number 102 “On ensuring the uniformity of measurements”, according to which all measuring systems are subject to verification. In addition, the law prescribes the indispensable replacement of old metering devices with new ones that need to be monitored (the timing of metering in Russia is prescribed individually in the technical data sheet of the device).
Equipment for electricity metering isthe property of the owner of the room, as well as other individual counters of consumption of utility resources. In this connection, the replacement, repair and other work on the maintenance of the apartment metering device, including when it is installed outside its borders, is carried out at the expense of the owner. All operations are performed in the district department of standardization, having previously agreed on the date of delivery of the device for taking readings and verification.
If the housing is municipal, then the duties of replacement, maintenance and other things fall on the municipality.
What does the law say
Verification is a series of processes that are performed.in order to verify the operability of the device and its compliance with the metrological requirements. Government Resolution No. 250 of April 20, 2010 specifies the register of measuring instruments controlled by state departments of metrology accredited according to all the rules in the provision of measurement uniformity. The timing of calibration of electronic electricity meters is strictly prescribed in the passport of the equipment.
Equipment installed in the apartments to account for the amount of electricity consumed, used in calculating the utility bill, is included in this list.
In other words, verification is the official certificate of an accredited company about the suitability of the device for further use as a metering device.
The term calibration of electricity meters
Verification is of two types:
- Primary, which is performed by the manufacturer before putting the equipment into operation (or after carrying out repairs).
- Periodic, it is carried out in the process of using the device in accordance with the verification interval.

- For induction mechanical equipment with discs, this period cannot exceed 8 years.
- For an electronic measuring device, this period reaches 16 years, depending on the model. For example, the timing of calibration of the electric meter "Mercury" varies from 6 to 10 years.
After checking the metrological service in the passport of the electric meter, a mark is made or a verification certificate is issued.

If the owner has suspicions aboutoverestimations of the metering device, no matter what period of calibration of electricity meters is registered in the equipment passport, the procedure can still be performed. But before contacting the staff of the standardization service, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the procedure for action:
- Verify the quality of the installation wiring.
- Invite a sales representative to the house to legalize the transfer of meter data for verification.
- Prepare electricity payment checks.
Extraordinary verification of the electricity meter can be carried out for other reasons:
- In case of loss of certificate of verification.
- When making meter adjustments and adjustments.
- When replacing old equipment with a new one.
For many apartment owners, checkingelectricity meters inevitably became a problem. Most of the old metering devices, according to the metrological services, are not suitable for further operation. According to the law, in this case there is only one way out - replacing the old counter with a new one. Reasons to replace the meter
There are a number of reasons why it is necessary to replace an old device with a new one:
- A device with an inactive or unevenly functioning disk.
- Equipment with a faulty display or indicator.
- Instrument with a damaged housing.

So, if according to the calibration results, the device is recognized as unsuitable for further operation, it is necessary to replace it.
Stages and cost of verification
Having issued all the formalities with the employee of the power supply company, you can proceed to the process itself, which can be performed in different ways.
In the department of the metrological service or any other accredited laboratory that the owner of the device will independently select. On site it is necessary:
- Agree on the delivery time of the metering device.
- The term of calibration of electricity meters is from 14 to 28 days.
- Specify the cost of the procedure:
- Single-phase, induction sample - 204 rubles.
- Three-phase device of the old sample with a disk - 338 rubles.
- Modern electronic (single phase) - 700 rubles.
- Electronic three-phase - 859 rubles.

- Verification for 5 days - the main tariff rate + 25%.
- For 3 days - the main rate + 50%.
- 1 day - basic rate + 100%.

After that, a certified employee of the metrological service will be sent to the owner at home, who performs all the work on site using a portable standard. The cost is negotiated individually.
The second option is the mostcommon, as less troublesome, but operational. In the course of a well-performed verification, the CsiM provides the owner with a document with a note on the implementation and an indication of the new term for the verification of electricity meters. If the result is negative, a document on the unsuitability of the metering device is issued. To install a new meter, you will need to re-invite a specialist from an energy-saving organization who will do the work and issue an act in two copies. One remains in the company, the second copy - from the owner of the equipment.
Is there responsibility for non-verification
Regarding the owner of the penalties forviolation of the timing of calibration of the meter or replacement is not provided. Meanwhile, upon the expiration of the calibration period of the metering device, it is recognized as unsuitable for making calculations, and the electricity charge will be charged in accordance with the standards introduced, which significantly exceed actual consumption.
In addition, if established by staffthe energy-saving organization of the fact that the metering period for the meter has expired, an act on unspecified consumption of electricity will be drawn up for the user and the personal account will be recalculated from the date of the previous calibration.
It is very important to know and remember that the replacementthe counter must be completed no later than one month. In the first quarter, the amount for electricity is calculated on the basis of the average monthly volume of energy consumed, or according to the indicators of a general household meter, and then according to the standard.
