International Day for Tolerance

What is tolerance?

Tolerance is the acceptance of the factthat the world around us is diverse, and all members of society manifest their individuality in different ways. A tolerant person is not obliged to be indulgent, but he must cultivate a tolerant attitude towards others and respect human rights and freedoms.

Tolerance (differently - tolerance)manifested at the state level, during the daily life of people and is formed as a result of training and education. Legislature is recommended to develop bills based on the principles of justice and impartiality, to comply with the rule of law, judicial-procedural and administrative norms.

At the level of family and community, tolerance is manifested in respect for each other. If necessary, a person or group of people is offered social and legal protection.

If a social group does not show tolerance towards members of another nationality, race, religion, propagates hatred and enmity, then the attitude towards such a community cannot be tolerant.

Tolerance must be brought up from childhood,Therefore, the UN supports the development and implementation of educational programs on the education of tolerance among the younger generation. It is recommended to begin learning by explaining to the child of his own rights and freedoms, then the student is led to the understanding that all people are equal. Along with the education of tolerance, violence is being prevented on national, racial and religious grounds.
