Burn means tissue damagewhich is caused by external factors. Burns can be thermal (occur under the action of high temperatures), chemical (occur under the action of chemicals), electrical (are the result of the action of electric current). The faster the first medical aid provided for burns, the greater the likelihood of the victim recovering as soon as possible.
Burns are divided into the following categories:
- First degree It is characterized by acute pain, redness of the skin, swelling of the affected area.
- The second degree is characterized by rapid exfoliation of the skin surface in the affected areas. Bubbles with a yellowish liquid form at such places. Burnt skin is extremely painful.
- At the third degree, there is a necrosis of the upper layers of the skin.
- The fourth degree occurs when exposed to high temperatures. When this happens the deceleration of deeper tissues.
Proper first aid forburns greatly facilitates further treatment. Immediately it is necessary to stop the impact of all hazards on the victim. As a rule, to do this, remove burning, smoldering, or chemical-soaked clothing. The person must be removed from the danger zone. The areas of the skin where burns have formed should be cooled very quickly.
First aid for burnsthe victim should include pain relief. A person needs to give, for example, a few tablets of dipyrone, etc. The ointment for burns, like any powder, is not used.
For first or second degree burnsAlcohol compresses are recommended: gauze napkins folded in several layers are moistened in ethyl alcohol and applied to the burn. A wax paper is put on top and everything is wrapped. This will help reduce pain. If more than 30% of the skin is affected, then the person should be covered with a clean sheet and ensure that he is at rest.
If the affected person does not complain of nausea,it is necessary to constantly drink small portions of warm coffee, tea, acid-base solution (a teaspoon of salt and a half teaspoon of soda per liter of water). In order to warm a person, it is necessary to wrap up with blankets, warm clothes and so on.
It is very important to follow the safety rules and take care of yourself and others from accidents.
