"Tsar's trail" in the Crimea or, as it is also called,"Solar" - was one of the favorite places for walks of the royal Romanov family. Today, the route is very popular with many vacationers on the peninsula, and it would be quite reasonable to talk about it in more detail.
History
“Tsarskaya Trail” in the Crimea was created in order to connect 2 settlements - Livadia and the village of Gaspra. However, few people know how it all began.
Back in 1861, the royal family purchased fromheirs to Count Pototsky Livadia Palace. The path to it passed only on Lower Oreanda (Crimea), but then it became necessary to connect the palace with Cape Ai-Todor.
Long thought how best to make the road, and soonit was decided to build a path through the mountains. At first glance, nothing special, but to perform the task followed in such a way that all the way there were no differences in heights and pressure.
Despite the difficult terrain, the task was completedcompletely, and the trail received another name - "Horizontal". And indeed all the way there is not the slightest feeling that the ascent up the hill begins somewhere or is going to be a steep descent. Everything is done as if walking along a straight path.
In the people, it was more called “the path of health”, because during the trip you could breathe clean, mountain air, which very well helped in the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
In 1900, Emperor Nicholas II was going toto leave for St. Petersburg, but before doing so, he instructed the manager Livadia Evreinov. The commission consisted in that workers laid a path from the "Pink Gate", which is located in Livadia, to the road in Verkhnyaya Oreanda (Crimea).
A year later, all the work was completed and the "Tsar Path" in the Crimea was fully completed.
The modern name "Solar Path" thisThe tourist route was already received under Soviet rule, since references to words related to the royal family were extremely undesirable. By the way, the name "sun" is not quite appropriate here, since there are places where the sun does not break through at all due to the thick undergrowth.

How to get there

Bus

In addition, some flights depart from the bus station, which is located near the airport. This is certainly a positive moment for those who decided to get to the Crimea by plane.
To Yalta
To get by bus to Yalta is not difficult.There are a lot of flights from different bus stations. The journey takes about 1 hour 50 minutes - 2 hours. You can also take a trolley bus, but then the journey time will noticeably increase.
From Yalta to Livadia
From Yalta to the Livadia Palace can be reached byusual bus, which costs only 13 to 18 rubles per person. From Yalta bus station there are two direct route taxis: №11 and №100 (5). You need to sit down not at the bus station, but at the bus stop "October" cinema. To reach it is not difficult and will not take more than 5 minutes. As for the total travel time, it is 30-35 minutes for bus number 11 and 25 minutes for bus number 100 (5).
To Alupka
Getting to Alushta is not difficult.Every day from various bus stations of Simferopol a lot of buses go in this direction. The journey time increases noticeably and, on average, is 2 hours and 35 minutes, but depending on the route, it can even reach 3 hours.
From Alupka to Gaspra
You can get from Alupka to Gaspra only on onedirect shuttle bus number 115. It is necessary to sit at the bus station, and get off at the bus stop "Sanatorium named after Rosa Luxemburg". The total travel time is 35-40 minutes, and the fare is 38 rubles. From the very last stop, you will need to walk a bit to the beginning (or end) of the trail.
Car
The option with a private car is perfect forthose who want to travel around the Crimea on their own. From the Kerch ferry to the Livadia Palace leads only one road, and it is quite long. Travel time is a little more than 5 hours. For convenience, it is recommended to use the car’s navigation system or install the corresponding application on a smartphone.

Of course, the main feature of the "Royal Path"in the Crimea - this is its "horizontal". As it was said earlier, the road was made in such a way that elevation changes are not felt here, although they exist. For example, at the starting point, the height above the level is 135 meters, and towards the end it reaches 203 meters.
Of course, there are also benches for rest, where you can take a breath, have a snack if necessary, or simply admire nature, inhaling the pure mountain air with the aromas of coniferous trees.

Route

Climbers often gather here to try their hand. To climb to the top of the mountain will be on a special path marked with red markers. It is located next to the monument of nature. At the top there is a cross, but more fascinating is the view that opens from there. This place can be safely attributed to another viewing platform.
After Krestovaya Gora it will also be possible to admire a great view of the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael, another famous mountain in the Crimea - I-Nikola and the Belogolovy massif.
There will again be several intersections anda fork. First you need to go up the stairs and after a while go down. Then at the fork you need to continue straight ahead, and there will already be signs with arrows.
One can already see the famous Swallow's Nest, located in the village of Gaspra. To him, too, you can go down the special path, which is located near the stone sign.
Continuing straight ahead“Tsar's Path” will be released on the track and will go along it for a while. Reaching the signpost with a mark of 6200 meters, you will have the opportunity to admire the gorgeous views of Ai-Petri, Shaan-Kai and just the beautiful landscapes. Further along there will be another pointer with an arrow that will guide you to another fork in the road, and then on to the children's sanatorium. Rosa Luxemburg. A stone can be found nearby, indicating that the route has been traversed.
