G.R.Derzhavin is a senior fellow and a teacher by Alexander Pushkin. Literary scholars have written a lot about the role played by the poet's work for the development of Russian art, what a remarkable pleiad of creative personalities came about thanks to him. One of the author's best lyrical texts is the poem "Recognition".
History of creation of the work
Any poet is peculiar in these or other periodscreative way to sum up their work, assess what has been done, outline prospects for the future. Gabriel Romanovich also did not depart from the rule. We all know his program "Monument". But today we recall another, no less interesting lyrical reflection of the poet and analyze Derzhavin's poem "Recognition". It is written in the mature period of life and creativity, when the author was already widely known and recognized in literary circles. However, realizing how his poetic method differs from the then existing traditions and wishing to be understood as widely understood by readers and fellow writers, Derzhavin considers it his duty to explain his own aesthetic and ethical principles and ideals. After all, he is often accused of mixing genres, using "low", ie, conversational, vocabulary. And after all, it was the creativity of this poet who was recognized as the pinnacle of Russian classicism! Therefore, the analysis of Derzhavin's poem "Recognition" is important for understanding its basic character. This small work, written in 1807, contains a kind of poetic code.
Author and lyrical hero
Since 1803, Gabriel Romanovich removes allstate powers and resigns, into the "embrace of rural silence". Zvanka's estate becomes a real literary shelter of the poet, in which a large number of works are created. His creativity acquires a philosophical orientation, which can be clearly seen when doing an analysis of Derzhavin's poem "Recognition." The lyrical hero of the work is identical to the author. The poet directly emphasizes: he is the same person as everyone, and he has the same weaknesses, hobbies as the rest of mortals: seduction by vanity and glitter of light, infatuation with female beauty, popularity, fame. Therefore, at the end of the work, paraphrasing a well-known biblical statement, the author exclaims to his invisible interlocutors-readers: throw my rock on the coffin, if you yourself are not like that!
Theme, idea
Producing an analysis of Derzhavin's poem"Recognition" for the key words, we reveal its ideological and semantic center: "the mind and heart of man were my genius." It is "human," that is, humane, with its kindness, sincerity, faith in all the best. This is confirmed by other examples of the text: the hero does not like to pretend and "the philosopher to take a look", in poetry he glorifies not himself, but the higher forces that rewarded him with talent. In every way emphasizing the human nature of his gift, Derzhavin "Recognition" builds on the principle of opposition. He emphasizes that if he glorified the kings, it was not because of loyal feelings, but in order to glorify the virtues needed in the state, and point them at the powerful of this world. The victories were praised by him, so that the descendants would know about the important events of their history, be proud of them, and their country, their time, too, raised to the pedestal of great achievements. In the eyes of the lyrical hero and truth "grunts" the nobles, criticizing them not out of envy or anger, but in order that they become better. It is sincerity, truthfulness, openness to the world and people who consider Derzhavin as the main virtues of his poetry. "Recognition," the analysis of which we have done, allows us to affirm this in full. That's why the gift of Gabriel Romanovich, his unique verse heritage, is valuable to us. Closing the era of classicism of Russian literature, he managed to give him a living human form. Therefore, Pushkin sincerely believed Derzhavin his brilliant teacher.
