Specialization
Students at ISA MSU specialize in one ofthree departments - historical, philological or socio-economic. Four years later, they become bachelors and receive an appropriate diploma, which indicates the direction of specialization - oriental studies, African studies. Then they have the opportunity to continue their education in the biennial magistracy.
Graduates of the ISAA MSU from those who show interest inpostgraduate education can continue here for a variety of additional programs. Obtaining any specialization, without exception, students in the same volume study one, and often two, eastern languages and one Western European. Today the choice is great: more than forty languages of the peoples of Africa and Asia are studied at the institute, and a whole range of languages of the Caucasus and Central Asia have recently been introduced into education.
Structure
The institute has eighteen departments.Historical: countries of the Middle and Near East, Southeast Asia and the Far East, South Asia, China, Japanese history and culture. History, language, literature and culture in the aggregate are studied by the Department of African Studies and the Department of Judaism of the Moscow State University.
Pure philological departments - Arabic,Iranian, Turkic, Indian, Chinese, Japanese philology, as well as the Department of Philology of the countries of Southeast Asia, Mongolia and Korea. There is a department and Western European languages. In addition, students acquire the absolutely necessary knowledge in the departments of international relations, economic geography and economics in African and Asian countries, and in the department of political science in the East.
Courses

Types of cooperation

Any capable student, after testing in the relevant departments, can train for five to ten months at a partner university abroad.
The benefits of such internships are enormous becauseTogether with the language practice, the student solves the problems of a scientific plan formulated in his native department. From the country of the language being studied, the student who passed the practice will return as a ready professional. ISAA MSU also annually accepts foreign students for free education, supporting such a plan for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Historians and philologists
The student, in the future specialist historian, shouldto study not only the history of the countries of Africa and Asia, but also the universal, as well as the history of the Fatherland, ethnology, archeology and the history of religions. And he will listen to the most fundamental lectures on the particular country studied in the process of learning. In addition, extensive courses in economics, culture, political system, historiography and source study are envisaged.
Future philologists are studying the basics of literary criticismand linguistics, general linguistics and the history of literatures. Pre-university and additional education
At MSU, great attention is paid topre-university preparation of schoolchildren who are interested in oriental disciplines. The Young Orientalist School, which teaches high school students, has been working for many years at ISAA. Close ties are maintained with the Oriental Lyceum and many other schools specializing in the teaching of Oriental languages.
On the basis of the ISAA MSU there are programs to improvequalifications and additional education. Higher education workers are also trained here. There are programs for those who wish to undergo professional retraining. In addition, there are courses for absolutely any categories of students in the ISAA MSU training center, and there is also an ongoing training program for school teachers.

Graduates of the ISAA MSU apply their knowledge inforeign policy and foreign trade structures, in Russian government and government agencies, the media, in analytical and research centers, in publishing houses, as well as in the university education system.
