Эстуарий – это воронкообразное устье реки c одним sleeve extending closer to the sea. When sediment — land and sand brought by wind or water — is removed either by a sea current or by tide, and the part of the sea adjacent to this place is deeper and an estuary forms. The Yenisei, Don and many other rivers have estuary-shaped estuary. The opposite concept of estuary in geography is delta. This is the mouth of the river, divided into streams. Such a part of the water flow is in the Nile, the Amazon and the Volga, but the latter, in turn, forms a estuary at its confluence with the Caspian Sea.
How does the estuary appear?
Usually the estuary of a river is the result of immersion inwater from one of the coastal sections of the watercourse. This process is accompanied by flooding of its lower part. The tides have a strong effect on the estuary, with the result that saline (ocean and sea) and fresh (river) water enters the river bed. Tides often occur with such force that the flow of the flow turns back, and saline and fresh waters penetrate many kilometers into the earth. If such a tide hits a rather narrow V-shaped estuary with very steep and high shores, the water level can rise to such an extent that a huge wave called bor is formed. In this case, he will penetrate deep into the earth, until he completely squander all his energy.
The largest estuaries
Estuary is a place convenient for navigation, as it is protected from all sides. In many areas even quite large cities are located. For example, Lisbon is located on the estuary of the Tagus River.
The largest global area of this typecalled La Plata. It is located between the countries of Uruguay and Argentina. Such rivers as Paraguay and Parana flow into the sea there. The cities of Montevideo and Buenos Aires are located on the shore of the estuary of La Plata.
Climatic conditions
Estuary is a place where the climate is very stable.and rarely “happy” with new and unexpected precipitation. For example, most often the monsoon character may prevail. It is a constant tropical wind. As a rule, in summer they come from the land, and in winter - from the sea. Summer in such conditions is somewhat cool - about 15 degrees. As well as the described climatic conditions make it clear that an estuary is a site that can constantly be fed by rainwater. An example of such a territory can be called the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It is constantly visited by tourists and can always please with its landscapes.
