Belgorod State Puppet Theater created inmid 20th century. Initially, his repertoire included performances only for children. Today, there are performances not only for young viewers, but also for an adult audience.
About the theater
Puppet Theater (Belgorod) was opened in 1962.At first it was a small studio, which was led by A. Shikova. After 4 years, a regional puppet theater was created at its base. He headed it M. I. Annushkin. It was then called New Theater for Children. The first performance that was staged here was Malchish-Kibalchish.
In 1972, N. Ye. Became the main director of the theater.Danilov. The most famous of her performances - "Buka". He did not leave the stage for 25 years. N. Danilova is also known for accepting young people without drama education to the company, but with pronounced talents. She herself turned them into beautiful actors and dexterous puppeteers.
The first 10 years the puppet theater (Belgorod) did not haveyour own building. Artists huddled in a tiny room, and all the performances worked on foreign venues. In fact, the theater was outbound. On the plight of the puppets of Belgorod was even filmed the plot with the magazine "Wick". After the footage was shown on television, the construction of the building for the theater began.

In 1983, a tradition was born in the theater - every year in December to release New Year's performances. At the same time, the troupe was replenished with graduates of drama schools.
In 2004, the post of chief director wasappointed N.Odintsov. He served here as an actor since 1971. The main director of the theater Nikolai Mikhailovich stayed only 4 years. In 2008, he died suddenly.
В 2006-2008 гг.the theater was overhauled. Many rooms in its course were reconstructed. The technical equipment of the stage was replaced by a modern one that meets the requirements of the present time. Due to this, the theater was able to raise the level of its productions, change the repertoire and include more complex performances.
Since 2009, the artistic director of the puppeteers is Natalia Repina. Prior to that, she headed the theater in Yakutia and was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Sakha.
Today in the repertoire of the theater about fiftyproductions. Actors actively tour, take part in contests and festivals. Each season, viewers are presented with premieres of new performances. Now the repertoire is designed not only for children, but also for the adult age category.
The theater also collaborates with directors and artists from other troupes who have different worldviews.
