Material Features
Originally harvested or, as it is more often called,Corrugated paper was used as a lining material for hats. Over time, this paper was used to make a variety of crafts.
There are several of its types depending on thethe degree of contraction and the size of the folds. To make flowers from paper: peonies, hyacinths, roses and others - the so-called creped paper, velvety, soft and delicate, with fine corrugation, is best suited.
All you need
Before you start making paper flowers, you need to prepare the following:
- corrugated paper of white color;
- glass container;
- food colors of the colors you need, for example, yellow and red;
- wire or wooden skewers;
- scissors;
- double sided tape;
- green ribbon or corrugated paper of this color;
- hot glue gun or quick-drying glue;
- thread floss or any other for embroidery.
Preparatory work
If you decide to make a peony from corrugatedpaper with your own hands, for better realism it is better to take not color, but white. The last one can be painted, having received a naturalistic color of the petals. The food coloring must be diluted in water. For coloring the inner petals, you can take a more saturated red, and for the outer - to mix yellow and red. From white paper we cut out square billets and carefully immerse them in prepared dye. When the paper is impregnated, remove it and let excess moisture drain. The resulting blanks can be dried, put on a saucer and dried for 20-30 seconds in a microwave oven.
Before you paint all the petals, try dyeing a few blanks and see the correctness of the choice of proportions of dyes.
Making the core
While the prepared preparations are drying, we make a base on which we will collect the peony from the corrugated paper with our own hands.
- We collect the core of the flower: we make a ball the size of a walnut made of cotton wool or paper.
- A wooden skewer or a wire prepared beforehand is wound with greased paper or tape.
- On the double-sided scotch we paste threads for embroidery, cut into pieces of 3-5 cm.
- The resulting workpiece is fixed to the core of the flower - as a result, you should get a small yellow brush.
Collect the flower
Before collecting bulk pions fromcorrugated paper, it is necessary to cut out heart-shaped lobes from painted blanks. Internal (3-5 cm) should be smaller than external (5-7 cm). To make the petals more realistic kind of fingers stretch the paper both crosswise and along and give the necessary round shape.
Around the finished core, starting with the inner,glue the petals until the flower is the right size. Carefully straighten them so that the peony of corrugated paper, created with our own hands, looks somewhat casually, like a real flower.
A simpler version
The above method requires perseverance andneatness, besides it is rather laborious, but there is an easier and easier way. This will require several different colored pieces of corrugated paper 25-40 cm long, depending on the size and color of the flower you want (for example pink, purple and orange). To make flowers peonies from corrugated paper, perform the following steps:
- Put the rectangles on top of each other and carefully fold, as shown in the photo, five to six times.
- The received accordion is bandaged in the middle with a wire.
- Cut the edges of the workpiece with a pair of scissors"Heart", "fence" or the way you like more. You can try to fold the part in half and cut the desired shape, but the beautiful and accurate edges of the petals are unlikely to work.
- Starting with the petals located in the center, lift and pull them up.
- You can give them the right shape, stretching them both across and along the folds.
Doing with children
Let's look at another simple way,how to make a peony from a piece of paper. It is suitable for joint creativity with children. Of the materials, only bright-colored corrugated paper, wire, scissors and glue will be required.
- cut out five to seven rectangles from a size of 20-25x15 cm from pressed paper;
- Each of them is folded with an "accordion", 5-7 folds;
- the rectangle put by "accordion" is collected in the middle;
- on both sides of the paper with a scissors round the petals;
- doing all these procedures with each of the prepared rectangles;
- we connect them to each other with a thin wire;
- glue the wooden skewer or wire with green paper;
- attach the formed flower to the received stalk;
- straighten the petals, arching their fingers in or out.
Thus, it is quite easy to gradually make flowers from corrugated paper and decorate your house with them or give such an elegant bouquet to your relatives.
