Muslims around the world are trying to live on the Sunnah -the rules and regulations followed by the Prophet (s. A.S.), that is, to commit godly deeds. One of them is to thank the person if he has done something good to you, and to say: “JazakAllahu Khairan”. What does this expression mean and why Muslims use words from Arabic in their speech, not being indigenous Arabs?
Why is Arabic so important for Muslims?
The origin of Islam as a religion occurred amongArab tribes, and therefore Arabic became the language of worship, like Latin among Catholic Christians and Church Slavonic among Orthodox. This means that each religion has its own language, which is its distinctive feature and allows you to separate it from other religions. In Islam, the main service, which requires knowledge of Arabic, is namaz, a fivefold prayer performed by all people who have reached a certain age, and azan is a call to prayer. Why?
- Reading namaz in Arabic makes it possible to unite Muslims of the whole world: they all perform prayer in the manner prescribed by the Prophet Muhammad (S. a. P.).
- Arabic in azan allows you to find out the call to prayer anywhere in the world and not to miss it, since it is considered a sin.

Thus, the Arabic language has 2 important functions:
- the preservation of religion and scripture unchanged;
- to unite all Muslims of the world into one.

What does "Jazakallahu hairan" mean?

In Arabic, these words have a hugevalue, and Muslims believe that their use is considered a good deed, for which the Almighty gives a reward. Therefore, at any opportunity they try to pronounce them.
What does "Jazakallahu hairan" mean?This expression translates as “May Allah reward you with good!”, Or “Allah reward Allah with good!”, Or “May Allah reward you with good.” It is a popular phrase for expressing gratitude, identical to the Russian “thank you” or “thank you”. This form of treatment is acceptable for men.
If they express gratitude to the woman, then they say“Jazaki Llyahi Khairan”, and if to several people, then “JazakumuLahu Hairan”. Abbreviations may be abbreviated to the words “JazakLallahu Khair" (JazakiLlyahi / JazakumuLlahu Khair), as well as use without the word “Khair”.
Sometimes Muslims use these words inwriting, and here there is one important point - in Arabic, some words change the meaning to the opposite, if you change their spelling. Therefore, it is important to know how to spell "JazakALLahu Hairan" in Russian letters and with the transfer of exact transcription in Cyrillic - a fluent spelling and certainly the name of the Most High with a capital letter. Two other variants are possible - "Jazz ka Llahu Hairan" and "Jazz ka Llahu Hairan".
What should a Muslim answer if he was told these words?
Gratitude in response to the service or pleasantWords are a sign of politeness, which is also Sunna. Therefore, if the Moslem was told the words “Jazakallahu Khairan”, then the same answer should be given in accordance with the sex of a person and the number of people. There is also a short answer similar to the Russian “Reciprocal”, it is pronounced “Wa yak” or “Wa yak”. Another less common form of response is the form: “Wa antum fa jazakllahu hairan”, which translates as “I should thank you, not you”. This form, like the previous ones, varies by gender and number. There is a hadith that indicates a form of gratitude that can also be consumed - this is “Amal ul-yaum val-layl”, which means “May Allah bless you. "
The Importance of the Pronunciation of the Words “JazakAllahu Hiran”
There are many in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammedexamples of the importance of saying thanks in response to a service or pleasant words. What expressions can Muslims say to each other?
In addition to expressing gratitude, Muslims in everyday life use the following expressions:
- “Alhamdulillah” (praise be to Allah!) - it is said to praise something or someone, and also the answer to the question “how are you?”.
- "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah!) - the words with which Muslims precede every action.
- "Insha Allah" (by the will of Allah / if the will of Allah be done! / If Allah wishes) - words that are used in stories about future plans and intentions
- "Astagfirullah" (may Allah forgive) - words that are uttered if a person unknowingly made a mistake or a sin, understood it, decided to correct it and asks forgiveness first of all from the Almighty.
