Fresh air and microclimate in the room are impossible without a ventilation system. Obligatory elements of it are vent pipes.
They must meet certain requirements:
- to be sealed;
- maintain the air flow rate corresponding to the established technical requirements;
- Do not exceed the noise level;
- maintain the air head specified in the project documents;
- Do not occupy a large room.
Ventilation pipes are used in rooms for uniform distribution of fresh air and removal of contaminated air.
The characteristics of the ventilation network arecross-sectional area, stiffness, cross-sectional shape. The vent pipe works efficiently with a good air flow rate, which depends on the parameters indicated.
Types of pipes
The design documents determine which ductwork is used - rigid (galvanized) or flexible (wireframe).
Rigid air ducts are used in enterprises, offices, cultural and entertainment complexes, various institutions and organizations, where active air exchange is envisaged.
Plastic ventilation pipes are more often used in small rooms with a complex configuration.
These pipes have recently become widespread for a number of reasons.
1. Plastic ventilation pipes reliably maintain tightness due to the simplified connection of duct elements.
2.Plastic ventilation for shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment complexes, fitness centers, hospitals and polyclinics is more suitable, since in these rooms high requirements are imposed on the quality and composition of air.
3. To ensure the necessary air speed, the ventilation pipes are additionally equipped with fans with noise absorbers. With pipe diameters above 160 mm or 225 mm air ducts are noisy.
4. The physical characteristics of the plastic provide a higher air flow rate than the metallic ones.
The material from which such ventilation tubes are made is polypropylene. It is reliable and durable, stable to light, moisture, chemicals and temperature effects.
Plastic ducts are widely used inPrivate cottages and industrial buildings. The only limitation is that it is not possible to use such ventilation in hot shops, because this can cause serious consequences and shorten the service life.
Air ducts can be flexible and rigid.The former are used in air conditioning for air purification in works related to welding and casting, as well as for the removal of toxic substances in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Their form can be any.
Rigid air ducts are plastic pipes, the thickness of the wall is 3-5 mm. Using a regular hacksaw, they can be shortened to the desired size. Resistant to corrosion.
The ventilation pipes are covered with a polyamide cloth to increase the service life. With plastic ventilation, which is installed with access to the street, air ducts are covered with aluminum foil.
The cost of metal ventilation is much more plastic, so plastic is in great demand, especially in private construction.
