Calculation of brickwork: highlights

When building any type of premisesit is necessary to make preliminary calculations of all materials used. This should be done at the design stage to avoid overspending or shortage of raw materials in the course of work. For example, the calculation of brickwork can be done even before laying the foundation, knowing the size of the walls to be erected under the project. It is also worth taking into account several important points that we will consider in our article.

Types of brick laying

With the modern construction of premises, various methods of erecting walls from this material are used, which can be classified in this way:

  1. Laying bricks in the form of 2 longitudinal lines withintervals, which are "tightened" by transverse elements and filled with gravel or expanded clay concrete. The walls are durable and have increased heat and noise insulation. However, labor and material inputs are high, in comparison with other methods.
  2. Normal continuous masonry.In this case, the calculation of the brickwork is carried out for the walls executed in the half-width of the brick, into one element and so on. For a standard material, the thickness of the baffle is taken as 12 cm, 25 cm, 38 cm, 51 cm and 64 cm, respectively.

Basic moments

Calculation of brickwork is carried out taking into account the following values:

  • length, height and width of the wall;
  • the total area of the openings (doors and windows).

When calculating, it is also taken into accountheight of the seam. As a rule, a value of 10 mm is taken for this, at which a better brickwork is obtained. Calculation of the brick in this case can be performed, knowing how much raw materials account for one cubic meter. This calculation can be done on special calculator programs, which are presented on some web resources. Or the same calculations can be made independently using the information given below.

calculation of the volume of masonry

Calculation of the required amount of raw materials

Calculation of brickwork can be performed according to the following procedure:

  1. Determine the thickness of the walls of the future structure in the project. For regions of the middle band, where there are sharp temperature changes, it is better to take a value equal to 51 cm or 64 cm.
  2. Calculate the area of the walls.This requires dimensions such as the length, width and height of these parts of the building (they can be found in the project). These values need to be multiplied, and from the result obtained subtract the area of windows and doorways.
  3. Calculation of the volume of brickwork is carried out in accordance with the amount of raw materials in 1 m3. This value varies depending on the size of the brick and the way the material is laid. The values can be found in the table below.
  4. The number of bricks in one cubic meter must be multiplied by the area of the walls, so we get the total amount of necessary raw materials.

It is important to consider that it is better to purchase materials withreserve, because in practice, there are various unforeseen situations. Therefore, from the result found, you need to calculate 5% and add this value to the total. Thus, it is possible to cover the costs of defective raw materials and "battle".
