Motorcycle "Ural" M 67-36 first appeared in theproduction program of the Irbit motor-car factory in 1976. The motorcycle came to replace the M 67, which was only two years old. The new model retained all the characteristics of its distant ancestor - M 72.
Engine and box
The main feature of all heavy motorcycles IMZ wastwo-cylinder engine. The main difference between the 649-cc motor M 67-36 "Ural" from the predecessors were new heads and carburetors. Cylinder heads made of aluminum (on the right and left - different) have exhaust valves of larger diameter. Instead of carburetors K-301 began to use K-301G. Carburettors were distinguished by enlarged sections of the channels for supplying fuel (jet vessels) and the fuel mixture to the cylinders (diffusers).
Cylinders are interchangeable, have aluminumhousing with cooling jacket and cast-iron sleeves. The 36 horsepower engine has a decent appetite - an average of about 8 liters per 100 km. The volume of the gasoline tank is only 19 liters. However, occasionally there are cars with tanks for the development of the pilot plant №24 IMZ - with a capacity of about 30 liters. This tank is much wider than the standard one.
The constructors paid much attention to simplificationservice. The displacement of the mounting of the rear pendulum fork made it possible to simplify the dismantling of the gearbox or propeller shaft. Previously, this required to dismantle the entire power unit from the frame. In the period of the beginning of production of M 67-36 the implementation of the program of Glavmotoveloprom was carried out, aimed at unifying the parts and landing dimensions of motorcycle units "Ural" and "Dnepr". Changing the point of attachment of the plug just allowed the use of a new box with reverse gear (similar to the box "Dnepr" MT-10), but this box was not put from the factory. The drive of the rear wheel was carried out by a cardan shaft.
Electrical equipment
М 67-36 «Урал» сохранил внедренную на predecessor system of electrical equipment with a voltage of 12 volts. It should be noted that up to M 67 on motorcycles IMZ used 6-volt electrical equipment. Increased voltage allowed to supply motorcycles modern at that time with lighting equipment of the international standard. In addition, a more powerful 150-watt generator G-424 with a current regulator PP-330 was also introduced. The rest of the electrical equipment remained the same.

Increase comfort
Great attention was paid to the designers of the plantnoise reduction. To do this, the silencers were enlarged by more than 1.5 times the volume. Due to this decision, the noise level decreased by 10 dB, which is a very high value. The motorcycle could be completed as separate triangular seats of the driver and the passenger (the so-called "saddle-frog"), and more comfortable solid saddle-pillow. A set of devices and lamps for the driver is minimal - the speedometer and the indicator lights of the battery charge (red) and the direction indicators (green). Front and rear suspension have not undergone any changes.
Release of the "Urals" M 67-36 continued until 1984.On sale the motorcycle came mainly with a side stroller. In the version of the lone sold only on special orders. Performance with the stroller was of two types - with a drive on the side wheel or without it.
Owners opinion
Today M 67-36 (however, like many othersmotorcycles IMZ) is very often used for the construction of custom and tricycles. Often, the improvements are so global that the original motorcycle can be recognized only by the characteristic engine of the Ural M 67-36 (pictured above).
In rural remote places one can often meetthe original "Ural" M 67-36. The feedback and impressions of the owners of this technique are very diverse and often contradictory. To the positive sides include a good cross-country motorcycle, and even the option that the drive only to the rear wheel. For lack of other equipment, it is used as a tractor. In addition to the stroller, you can attach a small trailer to the motorcycle.
Negative features include inefficiency(even after the transfer of the motorcycle to gasoline A92). When driving at high speed, the engine may overheat. The motorcycle has two carburetors and to ensure uniform operation they must be adjusted to the same mixture parameters, and this process is quite painstaking and not every owner can overpower it.
