Plantain plantain isherbaceous perennial, having a short root system and a chic rosette of the root leaves. Flowers are collected in five centimeters cylinder-like spikelet. The usual habitat of plantain are flood meadows, but it also grows along roads.
For medicinal purposes, both folk and traditional medicine, leaves and seeds are used.
Plantain, useful properties
The leaves contain:

Useful properties of the plant haveanti-inflammatory, analgesic and secretory effect. They are used for diseases of respiratory organs accompanied by eruptions of mucus. Leaves are effectively used for chronic catarrh of the lungs, with diarrhea, colic, meteorism, duodenal ulcer and other gastrointestinal diseases.
Plantain, useful properties in broths and infusions of folk medicine
Infusion of seeds is used to normalizeactivity of the stomach (constipation, inflammation). For its preparation, the crushed seeds (10 grams) are poured with 1/2 cup of boiling water. The mixture is insisted for 30 minutes and filtered. The received medicine is taken for 1 reception, for a day is taken 3 times. For each reception a fresh portion is prepared.
An infusion similar to the previous one is adopted asexpectorant. 10 gr. The seeds are poured over with a full glass of boiling water. Use a tablespoon three times a day. Getting in the gastrointestinal tract, the infusion envelops the mucous, protecting from irritants (food, drink). Taken in large quantities, the infusion has a pervasive effect, because it is recommended for chronic constipation.
