With the onset of autumn days it becomescolder, and then trouble happens - the child has bronchitis ... Parents, of course, have no time for poetry, because they want the baby to grow up healthy. Moreover, the appearance of bronchitis can lead to long-term complications, and the disease itself is not so easily treated. A child with acute bronchitis who is 2 years old is more susceptible to the disease than his mom or dad. Why is this happening?
The causes of bronchitis in children are always the same:immunity, features of anatomy and environment. Do not forget that the "tuning" of the child's body for the upcoming adulthood will continue for many more years. While the immune system of your child does not work at full strength, it is not yet able to recognize the infection attacking the body and give it an effective response. This is the first. In a child, especially in the first years of life, the bronchi are shorter and wider than in an adult. Consequently, the path of infection to the target is easy and short. Especially in wet and cold weather outside, in the indoor air dried by central heating, after regular communication with other children, and even with parents who smoke with the little ones.
The fact that a child has bronchitis is not clearat once: he, artful, skillfully disguised as the most common cold. As long as the viruses develop inflammation before the mucous reaction in the form of sputum production, a dry cough appears that can identify the enemy, it will take two or three days and time will be lost. So call a doctor right away, at the first sign of a cold. The sooner treatment starts, the lower the likelihood that bronchitis will appear at all.
Coughing is a warning signal:the body has turned on the defense mechanism and is trying to prevent infection spreading on the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, to penetrate deeper and reach the bronchi and lungs. After such a warning, a visit to the doctor can no longer be postponed. Even if before that the cold was leaking quite tolerably and was treated with home remedies. Any self-treatment by good parents is unacceptable! Especially antibiotics. You will have only a 5% chance to cope with the disease, because in a child bronchitis (as in an adult) is overwhelmingly caused by a viral infection against which antibiotic drugs are powerless. So the evil viruses will survive, but the good microorganisms that form a natural protective barrier against pathogens will die. Another thing, if antibiotics are prescribed by a doctor, then it is a necessity.
Special warning to parents:Do not even try to completely suppress the cough! And consult with your doctor even about seemingly innocuous cough drops. Independent decision making in this case is unacceptable. Tell me, are you sure that your child has bronchitis? And if it is masterfully disguised as it and more severe bronchial asthma, whooping cough or false croup? When they suppress cough will contribute to a more severe course of the disease.
To really alleviate the condition of the patient.child, give him a cushioning and coughing agent. Do not forget to carefully read the instructions attached to the drug. Because antitussive drugs would be appropriate when dry cough, but not when wet.
Remember also that bronchitis develops quickly, buthealth of the child after it is restored slowly. Even when the disease has receded, both strength and immunity will fully recover only after a month and a half.
