The drug "Xylen" contains the active substancexylometazoline, is available in the form of nasal gel, nasal drops for adults, nasal drops for children, nasal spray, nasal spray for children, dosed nasal spray, dosed nasal spray for children, and a dosed nasal spray containing eucalyptus and menthol.

As the instruction says, "Xylen" is a drug,which has such a pharmacological action: it is able to narrow the blood vessels in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, thereby eliminating its hyperemia and edema. These effects lead to the relief of breathing in rhinitis suffering from various etiologies. The drug begins to act a few minutes after the administration and its effect continues for several hours.

As the instruction says, "Xylen" is a remedy,which is prescribed for such indications as acute respiratory diseases occurring with rhinitis, acute rhinitis of allergic etiology, pollinosis, sinusitis, as well as to reduce edema of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and to prepare patients for diagnostic manipulations in the nasal cavity.

Drops in the nose "Xylene" have such contraindications:hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, arterial hypertension, palpitations, severe atherosclerosis, atrophic rhinitis, glaucoma, thyrotoxicosis, surgical operations in anamnesis on the membranes of the brain, pregnancy, age of twelve years (for a solution of one tenth of a percent).

Caution should be given this drugin the period of breastfeeding, children under two years for a solution of five hundredths of a percent, up to seven years for the gel, as well as if the patient has such pathologies as angina pectoris developed against ischemic heart disease, diabetes mellitus, prostatic hyperplasia and thyrotoxicosis.
