In St. Petersburg, in a family of athletes, May 21991 was born the future champion, boy Ilya. Zakharov did not live there for long. Rather, he was only born there, and he spent all his childhood in Saratov, where his parents moved.
His father was engaged in officer diversification, and the boy’s mother was a candidate master of sports in volleyball. At the time of the birth of her son she worked as a physical education teacher in one of the St. Petersburg schools.
Biography of Ilya Zakharov: an active child
Since childhood, the future champion was different from hispeer overuse. There was so much energy in him that the boy kept getting into some stories. The search for adventure is the main feature of Ilya in childhood.
By the age of six, the boy had flat feet.The doctor, who was observing the small patient, advised the parents to give Ilya to the pool. At that time, a family friend was working there. He suggested to his parents that he should attach a boy to jump into the water.
The occupation of this sport allowed to direct all the energy of Ilya in the right direction. The set has long been over. But the boy was still accepted into the group, the head of which was coach Tatyana Korobko.
Ilya did not share the desire of parents to engageswimming. He by all means ignored the requirements of the coach and did not want to swim in the pool. Tatiana Korobko sometimes had to even push Zakharov from the pedestal into the water.
But a year later, everything changed radically. Ilya could not imagine himself without sports. Diving was not just an occupation or a hobby. They became part of the boy's life.
Ilya dreamed of devoting himself to football, but doctors forbade him to play this sport. But they advised to try their hand at diving. And, as it turned out, the advice was efficient.
Start of diving lessons
A year later, Zakharov took part in peer competitions and won the first medal. By the age of nine, Ilya established himself as a future prize-winner, sportsman and pride of Russia.
In 2004 he successfully passed the selection for the master of sports. After that, Zakharov began to occupy his first prizes. And two years later he won the competition among students of the school.
Tatyana Korobko, coach of the children's teamjumps into the water, saw a great future for the boy. Ilya Zakharov participated in the junior championship of Russia. And although he did not win a prize, he had a goal - to become a winner and win a gold medal at the Olympics.
The dream came true.Ilya Zakharov, Olympic champion, became not just an athlete, but an Honored Master of Sports of Russia in diving. He takes part in the Olympic Games 2012 in London and wins gold in diving from a three-meter springboard.
Awards and Titles
In 2007 takes part in the competitionRussian Cup. He jumped from a ten-meter springboard, won the victory, earning the highest points. In Aachen, in Germany, Ilya together with Kuznetsov took the second place in jumping from a three-meter tower.
But that's not all. In Saratov, he became the winner in the individual program, winning a bronze medal for jumping into the water from a three-meter springboard.
A year later, he won two medals received at the Russian Championship for skill in diving in a pair with Yevgeny Kuznetsov.

Army service and study
In 2007, he became a student at the State University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism in Moscow. At first he planned to get an education in the specialty "sports manager".
However, a sports career was the reason that he was unable to pay proper attention to training. Therefore, he abandoned the idea of becoming a sports manager, replacing the faculty with a coaching one.
In 2011, I decided to give the debt to the Motherland, becomingsoldier conscript. He believes that every man must fulfill his military duty. Ilya Zakharov went to guard the federal service of Russia. When he returned, the guy continued to prepare to participate in the Olympics.
The athlete is not married. But there is a girlfriend - Nadezhda Grechushkina. He has already made her an offer to be his wife. Hope agreed. Wedding lovers are planning to play next year.
