History of occurrence
Railway station "Adler" appeared verylong ago - in 1929. It was built long before the moment this area became part of Sochi. The building was built in the Stalinist style, I must say, it is not as big as the modern version. The station belongs to the North Caucasus Railroad and, by the way, is considered one of the largest and largest railway terminals in all of Russia. The station also has one key feature, which is that the building is located almost on the shore of the Black Sea. In order to be near the sea, you must go the way. Many are surprised by this location, but everything is really simple. After all, Sochi is a city stretching for dozens of kilometers along the coastline, so the sea can be said everywhere.
Modernity
Only five years ago began to buildThe new station building, it was decided to place east of the former. It all started due to the fact that in 2014, the Winter Olympics were to be held in Sochi. In fact, not only the station "Adler" has undergone changes. For four years, large-scale work was carried out over everything in Sochi - hotels, hotels were built, roads were reconstructed, motorways were built. So, the creation of the project of the Adler Station was carried out by an architectural group headed by A. P. Danilenko. The distribution passenger hall was located at a height of ten meters above the railway tracks. And the complex itself was divided into two parts - the sea and the city. Thanks to this distribution, it turned out to create a comfortable and modern railway station. It meets all the requirements for such buildings - it is competently equipped from a technical point of view, it has an interesting design and blends in harmoniously with its surroundings.
Project
Railway station "Adler" as a project appeared in 2009year Interestingly, the design of the architect initially caused a lot of questions and comments. Therefore, the project had to be transferred to the Sochi branch of the NGO “Mostovik”, so that other specialists would re-analyze it and correct the shortcomings. The dates were tight, no one was going to move the Olympics, because the construction had to start as soon as possible. Therefore, it was necessary to design the station in parallel with its construction, which had already begun by that time. It was difficult, because the foundation had already been erected to be used as the basis for inventing a new layout and image of the entire building. There were risks, and considerable ones - in just eight hours, with the help of the most powerful jacks, we managed to lift just a giant roof, which we had previously collected at the lowest level of the station. The deformation of the structure at the time of installation was about 1.5 meters, but as soon as the ascent was completed, all marks were taken, as expected. Architects from GMP helped the Sochi specialists - this is a German company, whose employees built Berlin Tegel Airport and the central station of the German capital. Their experience has helped to apply new technologies in the construction of the Adler station and develop its logic scheme. In general, a few months after the start of construction, the work improved, and everything went according to plan.
Design
Station "Adler" is very beautiful and attracts to itselfthe attention of everyone, whoever drove by. However, this design could remain unfulfilled in reality. The fact is that German architects saw the building more simple, rectangular, one might say “dry”. However, the author of the project insisted on his. Indeed, against the backdrop of the majestic Caucasus Mountains a building should be raised, made in a special pictorial design. Station, located right near the sea, should not be ordinary. It should reflect the Black Sea. This idea influenced the decision of the architect to embody the theme of the sea wave in the building.
