History
Azur Air Airline is a low-cost domestic charter carrier. It is based at the major Russian airport Domodedovo and is part of the holding company Aneks Tourism Group.
In the field of civil aviation, it appeared not so long ago - in December 2014. It originated on the basis of Katekavia, and its area of specialization was air transportation in the Volga and Siberian regions.
The entire former Katekavia fleet wastransferred to the company "Turukhan". The first own aircraft, the Boeing 757-200, was also received by Azur Air in 2014. In the same year, on December 17, the first flight to Sharm el-Sheikh airport was operated.
During 2015, the fleet was increased to 14aircraft. Until 2015, Azur Air was a subsidiary of the domestic airline UTair. But in March of the same year, the latter completely sells the shares of Katekavia, and the company becomes independent. Last fall, the name of the legal entity was renamed and the existing certificate of the operator was replaced.
Since February 2016, Azur Air has received admission from the Federal Agency "Rosaviatsia" for regular flights on international routes.
Accidents
The only accident in historyThe company’s existence occurred on February 26, 2016. An aircraft of the Boeing-767 type, flying from Moscow-Phuket from Domodedovo Airport, made an emergency landing at the airport of Tashkent. According to the preliminary version, the cause could be the engine oil level sensor triggering.

The youngest aircraft (age 13 years) has a tail number VQBEY. All aircraft of this type in the cabin have 238 passenger seats of economy class service.
"Boeing 767-300" - long-haulpassenger airliner. Present in the company's fleet in the amount of 5 units. The oldest aircraft is 20 years old (tail number VQBUO). The youngest airliner is 17 years old (tail number VQBUP). The cabin of the aircraft of this modification is designed to carry 336 passengers in the layout with one service class.
