Post-industrial society: the main thing is creativity

We see from the example of the United States that it is the best inthe modern world does not live those who produce the most goods. Of course, from time to time such a “strange” situation changes for the worse due to the crisis, but in general, it is not the production of a material product in modern society that provides the country with an excellent standard of living. Ruin, as Bulgakov said, in their heads. And those who receive and produce more useful information better live in a post-industrial society.

We have used the term, but what exactly does it mean?Western sources formulate it like this. The post-industrial society is such a society structure, in which information, services and high technologies become the main factors of success, and the production of goods itself becomes less significant. Not all modern economies can be attributed to the category under discussion, but there is a tendency to spread such ideas, and quite influential.

Why the emergence of such a situation has becomepossible? The key factor is not services, as they say in Russian-language textbooks, but technologies. The invention of efficient production methods made it possible to make goods unusually cheap. As a result, the basic human needs are met for a small price. And a large amount of funds remains for spiritual development, the search for interesting information, personal growth. While the basic needs are not satisfied, the person is not to search for unusual information. And if a person is fed and protected, then other needs come into play - in respect and self-realization. This area is very vulnerable, and therefore requires a lot of work from both the person and the manufacturer of services and technologies. In a word, science fiction writers were afraid that a person would have nothing to do when the cars took on a lot. Well, it turned out that there is plenty of work in our world.

What else is characterized by post-industrialsociety? Signs include the transition of the economy from the production of goods to the production of services, knowledge becomes a form of capital, the generation of ideas becomes the driving factor of the economy, the decline in the value of physical labor while the value of the work of highly educated people increases, the importance of behavior sciences and information changes, resulting in priority research.

The main thing that distinguishes the post-industrialsociety is a peculiar cult of creativity, that is, the ethics of labor is replaced by the ethics of creativity, an active person who is able to create information and objects of art. This is the only exception to the general rule, which says that the intangible is more important.

In fact, the post-industrial societyperhaps because there is globalization, and work is given to employees who can be paid less than their own. For example, it is advantageous to transfer production to China. By the way, antiglobalists are fighting not only and not so much for the uniqueness of individual cultures, but for not the smartest representatives of developed nations to get a job without having to study for a long time. And now there is a tendency for simple operations to trust the same Chinese, or Koreans. And Western people with low intelligence do not want to study. So they are protesting against globalization. This is just one of the points of view, but it is quite logical.

Important for a new type of society is no longerquantity and quality of the product. And a variety. In general, the needs are limitless. A person always needs "new items", while modern manufacturers try to keep up with inquiries. As we see, in the countries of the former Soviet Union there are also signs of a post-industrial society. Perhaps this is for the better, because in such a society human capital becomes more and more important. This means that the needs of each person will be treated more respectfully.
