Pridneprovskaya State Academyconstruction and architecture (PGAAS) is located in Dnepropetrovsk. They train specialists in the construction and economic sphere. The Architecture and Construction Academy is the region's leader in training personnel in architecture, industrial and civil engineering.
From technical courses to technical school
The history of the construction and architecture academy inDnepropetrovsk is conducted with the "Ekaterinoslav technical courses V. Kh. Korobochkin", which were founded in 1910 and expanded in 1912 electromechanical and construction department. By 1915 there were 250 students studying there with a term of 3.5 years (7 semesters).
In 1917 the Provisional Government of Russia coursesrenamed the "First Polytechnic Courses", which were planned to be transferred to Voronezh. However, already in 1918 the courses were renamed into the "Technical Institute". In 1921, the future construction academy (Dnepropetrovsk) received a second birth: highly specialized courses were reorganized into the 1st Ekaterinoslav Technical School. In the last year of the courses there were about 40 students.
Dnepropetrovsk Building Institute
23.03.30 Construction College was reorganized in the Dnepropetrovsk Construction Institute with a change in the form of training from evening to day. The site of the former Krestovozdvizhensky Cathedral for the construction of the building of the Institute in the quarter along Chernyshevsky Street, Zhukovsky, Patorzhinsky and Clara Zetkin was allocated as a city. The remains of the church building with a facade on Patorzhinsky Street were refurbished, now there is a building academy. Dnepropetrovsk replenished with a new university, which prepares specialists in town planning.
С 1935 года институт официально называется Dnepropetrovsk Engineering and Construction Institute (DISI). With the outbreak of hostilities with German fascist troops, students were drafted into the army. The institute resumed its work on November 1, 1943. The status of the Academy was conferred in 1994.
Goals and objectives
It is important for any state to cookprofessional builders, architects, managers, business executives for the construction of residential buildings, road construction, industrial facilities. In central Ukraine, the base for the training of these specialists is the Dnieper Construction Academy, Dnipropetrovsk.
Budget places for admission are distributedaccording to the competition and have a strictly limited number, depending on the specialty. Applicants who have concluded contracts with future employers have certain advantages. If you could not stand an independent examination test, there is an opportunity to study on a commercial basis.
Now about 6,000 students study at the academy.They are taught by 688 teachers, of whom 52 are doctors of science. The Academy has nine scientific schools, headed by famous scientists. Students are taught in-depth study of foreign languages with internships in many European countries. The Academy has opened a department for the intensive study of foreign languages. In the fourth and fifth courses, having mastered in perfect one or two foreign languages, to continue their education in parallel in our academy and in universities of France, Germany, Switzerland.
Building Academy (Dnepropetrovsk): faculties
In PGASA specialists are trained in six faculties in 19 specialties:
- Architectural.
- Economic.
- Industrial civil engineering (CBC).
- Mechanical.
- Building.
- Life support technologies and ecology.
Also, 2 faculties have the status of institutions: continuing professional education and correspondence-distance education.
Achievements
Building Academy (Dnepropetrovsk) islarge educational and scientific center of the region. Traditionally, almost 1,500 students have actively collaborated with teachers and researchers of the Academy in the implementation of scientific research, the preparation of publications and reports at seminars and conferences, in inventive activity.
So, in 2014, in collaboration with students,186 scientific articles, abstracts were published, 11 patents of Ukraine were received. 46 students took part in the second round of the All-Ukrainian Olympiads, seven of them became winners with diplomas of І, ІІ and III degrees in individual and team competition. 36 students participated in All-Ukrainian and international student research competitions, 10 of them became winners.
In addition to conducting basic research, carrying out applied research, employees of all 39 departments carry out scientific activities in accordance with the departmental thematic plans.
Research funding
In 2014, budget financing in terms ofperform basic research increased to 500,000 UAH. against UAH 290100 in 2013 and aimed at developing theoretical foundations for obtaining nanostructured elements and studying their influence on the properties of building steels.
Объемы финансирования прикладных разработок на 2014 amounted to 1.5 million UAH. (in 2013 - UAH 870,000). Funding was carried out for a comprehensive applied research concerning the development of the scientific foundations for the creation in Ukraine of high-tech socioeconomic complexes.
Sport and leisure
Close attention Dnieper Academy(Dnepropetrovsk) pays the full development of its students. Each student at PGAAS can find something for everyone. There is an opportunity to participate in competitions, conferences, prepare reports to the meeting of the student scientific council. Or enroll in the literary studio "Lyra", which encourages the expression of his "I" in verse or prose. For sports lovers there is a swimming pool, a spacious gym. Champions and prize-winners of the championships of Ukraine, Europe and the world were brought up at the Academy.
Students are encouraged to participate in numerousamateur activities. You can sing and dance at the balls of first-year students, you can prepare an original number for the festival "Student Spring". And students of the architectural faculty can do design on a computer or invent and develop a new project for building the center of Dnepropetrovsk or some European city, while studying its history, customs and traditions.
