Eternal wanderer, or Where does a tiger live?

First let's figure out where the tiger lives. It is generally accepted that the homeland of these wild cats is Southeast Asia. From there they settled closer to the north, reaching the Ussuri region and the Amur region. But the range of their habitat is not limited to the Far East alone. Once upon a time, tigers lived throughout India, on the islands of Sumatra, Bali, Java and the islands of the Malay Archipelago.

Eternal Wanderer

In a narrow sense, to the question of where the tiger lives, difficult to answer. The fact is that this is an eternal wanderer. Even if he marks the territory, it's not for long, after a couple of weeks he goes to other places where you can profit.

Hunting for the victim

Hunt predator out in the evening, only in rareIf the beast is terribly hungry, it hunts during the day. Because of its peculiar color, the tiger seems very bright, but in fact an orange with black stripes is a very good disguise for hunting in "field conditions." His favorite way of attacking his victim is a lightning jump from a thick bush. It is here that the predator comes in handy and patronizing coloring, which conceals it. The tiger creeps up close and jerks to the victim, biting into her throat or breaking her neck with a powerful blow to her paw. Of course, the victim has no chance to survive. With one of its deadly paw blows, a predator easily kills a bear or a horse! Horror is simple! It is interesting that during the attack he does not make any sounds.

It should be added that a tiger is a hunter-loner, and even if he hunts with a female, this "cooperation" lasts for not more than a week, after which they diverge with the world.

In general, it is an omnivore. If the predator is very hungry, then he is ready to devour in a literal sense everything that gets in his way, but his final diet depends on where the tiger lives. His victims are domestic cows, wild bulls, deer, buffaloes, bears, wild boars, lynxes, monkeys, crabs, wolves, different fish, snakes, mice, frogs and even locusts with grass. In the "hungry year" the tiger can eat land and wood bark. There are cases when crocodiles, pythons and leopards became victims of the tiger! If the predator is completely hungry, then its own brethren become their own brethren. Very rare, but there are also cannibal tigers!

Offspring

The cubs of tigers are born completely helpless andblind (however, like all cats). Not later than 11 months later they are already capable of independent hunting. Almost two years, cubs live with their mother, after which they leave the "parental home", becoming single hunters. So if you meet alongside a dead victim of three or four tigers - do not think that they have violated their own principles and began to hunt in packs. It's just a mother and her cubs are tigers. The photo is proof.

Siberian tiger
Extinction of the species

Life expectancy of tigers is from 15 to 20 years.Today it is an endangered species of animals. They are taken under guard around the world. For example, the Siberian tiger, better known as the Amur, is listed in the Red Book, as it is on the brink of extinction. For the territory of the Russian Federation - in the wild nature - Siberian (Amur) tigers, unfortunately, no longer exists. Note that in India, these animals remained only two thousand individuals, while more recently there were more than twenty thousand. In Sumatra, Bali and Java, because of the predator hunting, they disappeared altogether.

Fortunately, today there are still places where the tiger lives. But their habitats are shrinking as striped predators die out ... Whether it will be possible to save tigers altogether from extinction is a big question. All in our hands!
