In 1979, based on the works of AnatolyKalinin was filmed television series "Gypsy". The hero of the film is a man of wide souls, however, he has survived a lot of troubles in his life. In the story, Budulai was supposed to die. However, he was so fond of Soviet TV viewers that the director of the film decided to make a sequel. This is the story of the creation of the series “The Return of Budulaya”. The actors who played the main roles in this penetrating film are Clara Luchko and Mihai Volontir.

Directed by A.Blank initially decided that Klara Luchko will star in the title role. First, he felt sympathy for this actress. Secondly, Luchko is of Don Don Cossack origin. And this means that no other artist could have so excellently played the role of a strong-willed strong woman.
On the search for the performer starring creatorsfilms spent a lot of time. We needed an actor with a colorful gypsy appearance. But since there was no such thing among the outstanding stars of the Soviet cinema, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was offered the role. Actor of Armenian origin agreed. But, as always, was extremely busy. In the early eighties, Dzhigarkhanyan was perhaps the most sought-after domestic artist.
Then another one arrived at the tests, alreadylittle-known actor from Yerevan. He was short and had a noble, ascetic appearance. Perhaps this challenger was a true professional. However, he did not like Clara Luchko. The director of the actress made a very weighty argument: "I can not love him." And after Luchko, she suddenly remembered one Moldovan actor, whom she had once met on the set of one of the films. The actor's name was Mihai Volontir. He spoke with a terrible accent. But it was enough for the director to just look at him, as it became clear: this is Budulay. The artist, preparing for the shoot, pulled up the Russian. He did not want to be voiced by another actor. In addition, Volontir learned Kuznetsky craftsmanship and forged a real horseshoe.
By the way, in the fact that the continuation of the “Gypsy” was written, the merit is primarily Volontir. He did not stop persuading Blanca not to kill his hero.

The audience attributed the novel to the actors of the film “Return of Budulaya”. Luchko and Volontir spent a lot of time together. But it was a warm and exceptionally friendly relationship.
Mihai Volntyr on the set of the film wasassigned the smallest bid. Luchko received forty rubles a day. Volunteer was supposed to get seven. The proud Moldavian man was indignant and announced to the filmmakers that he did not need handouts and was ready to work for free. However, after the release of the show on the screen, the money was still paid to him.
