Another school comedy "Daddy is 17 again"(actors: Zac Efron, Leslie Mann, Thomas Lennon, Matthew Perry, Sterling Knight) should not be taken as a traditional teen movie, designed for a narrow audience - young fans of the current Disney studio favorite. Despite the fact that the first episode almost copies the first scene of one of the most successful franchises “Classical Musical”, the target audience of the film will consist of representatives from different social and age groups of society. This was taken care of by the creators who further developed the plot with a nostalgic greeting from the 80s - they added the characteristic features of the “body swap movie” subgenre (films about the exchange of bodies). Such a move is sure to attract former fans of the pictures that have already become classics of the genre, like the fantastic comedy “Big” with Tom Hanks.

Screenwriter Jason Philardy subtly walked through the entire script of the painting “Daddy's Again 17” (the actors received already verified text), not rolling down to banalism, but not resorting to outright madness.
Description of the plot
The most popular youth school Mike O "Donnel (ZackEfron), a star of the school basketball team, is looking forward to the decisive match of the championship, because it will decide whether to get a scholarship for college. But just a few minutes before the fateful game, the main character learns that his girlfriend Scarlett (Leslie Mann) is pregnant. The guy sacrifices his career and decides to marry her. As a result, after 20 years of marriage, he turns from a handsome athlete into a loser with office dyspnea, balding hair and a belly (adult Mike plays Matthew Perry). Family life is not going well, the spouses are constantly in conflict, and the case unswervingly goes to divorce. Mike, occasionally regretting the "ruined youth", once meets a strange "Santa Claus". He returns the hero to his young 17-year-old body. The rejuvenated Mike (again Zac Efron) falls into the very school that his own children attend - son Alex (Sterling Knight) and daughter Maggie (Michel Trachtenberg). Mike has a unique chance to bring order to his family and life.
Acting Casting
Impeccable acting is one of"Whales", which keeps all the comedy "Again the pope 17". Actors: M. Perry, T. Lennon, M. Trakhtenberg, L. Mann, M. Hardin, S. Knight, Z. This time, this character and smart, he is a true ipish genius with decent financial opportunities, a real fan of computer games and the epic "Star Wars". To all, he teaches the elven language, most of them are in a euphoric state, and manages to fall in love with the headmistress. This charismatic character instantly gains audience sympathy.
Not without stamps
No matter how hard the creators and participantscomedies “The Pope is Again 17”: the actors, the film crew and the screenwriter with the director - but still it was not possible to bypass some of the cliches of youth comedies about the school. These details do not build the plot, but the avid movie fan catches the eye, although they are an addition to the main action. If we consider that there is not a bit of vulgar humor and hackneyed jokes in the film, we can say with confidence: this work is one of the best in its genre and thematic focus. The project did not have enough smallness to step beyond the generally recognized framework of the genre and become an independent and self-sufficient film.
With nostalgia, but not without posturing
The authors of the film, not hiding nostalgia forto their own youth, they placed their own photos from their school albums in the final captions of the motion picture - it touches. The fortress on which the predominant number of modern youth comedies is built, although present in the film, is not annoying. Let the film by Berr Steers not become a nugget, and it’s impossible to call him a landmark project, anyway this is a very high-quality comedy film in which posturing pleases the soul. It can be safely recommended for viewing to all, without exception, lovers of family, good, sincere and true comedy films.
