Ways to decorate interior items, includingnumber of trays, a great variety: painting, embroidery, burning, tying, and much more. Of course, the choice of this or that decoration method directly depends on the material from which the product is made. Hardly a sofa cushion someone will decorate by burning out a drawing, and on wooden handles the chair will begin to actively embroider patterns. More I would like to talk about decorating products from wood, and more specifically - to discuss the decoupage of a wooden tray. To begin with, of course, it is necessary to understand what a decoupage is. And only then you can discuss exactly the decoupage of the tray.
What is decoupage?
Translated from the French word decouper(which is the progenitor of the Russian "decoupage") means "cut." Decoupage is not only a kind of hobbies (hobbies), but also a way to decorate your home from the inside, to create a beautiful gift to a loved one.
The essence of this method of decorating objectsconsists in attaching elements of ornament made of paper, cardboard, lace, photographs and similar material to the ennobled object by gluing and further coating with varnish to preserve the composition, increasing the service life of the product, and creating a visual effect. For example, decoupage of a tray is a way not only to decorate this product, but also to save time and energy in the process of its ennobling. Beautiful flowers, ornate patterns, autumn landscapes, portraits of celebrities ... The choice of ideas for decoupling the tray in particular, and decoupage as such in principle, is very, very large.
Decoupage: the basic principles of selecting elements of the ornament, their design and fasteners
It would seem that everything is so easy and simple - cut outpicture, pasted on the arm of the chair, covered with varnish and ready. What is unusual and beautiful? The whole point, first, in the image, the pattern, which is chosen for decoration. That is, relevance, combination with the product itself, the color scheme are the main factors in the choice of elements of the ornament. Secondly, it is necessary to carefully and accurately cut out the necessary element. The untidiness and disregard of the contours of the drawings will serve the master evil service. Thirdly, gluing pictures, photographs and other elements is one of the most painstaking stages. It is necessary to show not only patience and, again, neatness, but also timely remove excess glue, while not spoiling either the product or the pattern. And, finally, the stage of coating with varnish followed by drying is also an important procedure. The composition should be applied evenly uniform layer, not allowing unnecessary protrusions and depressions to appear. In the drying process, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of getting foreign objects, dust particles, crumbs on the decorations. So, choosing as an example decoupage of a tray from a tree, we will consider all the stages of the process.
Necessary materials
As for any type of creative activity,to produce a tray in the style of decoupage, some materials are needed. As a decorated surface is a wooden tray. Since the wooden surface to be treated is chosen, it is best to use a professional primer, and paint is already applied to it. Then you should decide on the patterns that are suitable for the tray. Selection of scissors is a sufficiently significant part of the selection of the necessary materials. We need convenient scissors, for cutting out small details, but it is important that there are no problems with the processing of large ones.
As an adhesive agent, you can take not onlyA special adhesive for decoupage, but also an ordinary PVA. For the convenience of paint application, sponges or sponges should be used, and flat brushes will be suitable for smoothing the pattern. As the final layer is used acrylic lacquer. All these are necessary materials for beginners of decoupage masters. In the future, it is possible to use all sorts of sparkles, varnishes to create the necessary effects, gilding, etc.
Step-by-step instruction
Decoupage of the tray begins with its painting from allsides with a ground paint. At least two layers are made. While the tray, or rather the paint on it, dries up, it is necessary to prepare the elements for decoration, i.e. carefully cut and distribute evenly on the tray (or in the places where the attachment is planned). Then the gluing process begins. Accurately, clearly on the intended site with the help of glue glued patterns / drawings. The adhesive should be allowed to dry well. Sites without ornamental elements can either be painted with paint, different in color from the one applied at the beginning of the process, or leave the color unchanged. As a finishing stroke with a brush, apply acrylic lacquer on the entire surface of the tray. Decoupage of a wooden tray is ready!
Educational videos
For clarity and simplification of teaching the techniques of this technique, as an example, a video with a master class for decoupling the tray is shown.
This option is more complicated, for those who are experienced either in decoupage itself, or in principle worked with similar techniques.
Вариант подойдет для начинающих мастеров, не having a rich experience in decorating in the technique of decoupage. Of course, these videos will help not only to master the technique, but also to draw ideas for future work.
The idea of decoupling the tray
Most often, not only for a tray ofwood, in this technique used as decoration elements romantic, gentle drawings, light patterns, landscapes in pastel colors. Often the ornament itself is cut from napkins, ready-made pictures. Images are searched according to the individual preferences of the master. It is best to use napkins as a "donor" of the elements of the ornament, since it is easier to fix, cut, pick up the pattern. Trays with images of flowers, landscapes, still lifes are beautiful. You can also inlay the tray with twine, creating intricate patterns. The use of several colors during painting will make it possible to compensate for an uncomplicated figure. With the help of sandpaper can create the effect of aging, issuing a new tray for a family heirloom.
