Throttle position sensor: characteristic, operating principle

Throttle Position Sensor
Throttle Position (TDC) Sensoroccupies a very important place in the system, which monitors the received dose of fuel. At its signal, the controller starts its work, which includes determining the position of the flap. By how high the speed of the signal changes, the tracking of the dynamics of the pedal pressing is carried out, and this is the main factor determining the required fuel dose. In the mode in which the engine starts, the deflection angle of the flap is monitored. And if it is open by 75 percent or more, the engine blowdown mode is activated. The signal that the throttle position sensor gives is the starting signal. After it, the controller starts to control the RHC (regulator idle move). This is how the air is supplied to the engine.

It should be noted that the throttle position sensorflap has another name. This is a mechanism of the so-called potentiometric type, which includes resistors (constant and variable). Their total resistance is about 8 kOhm.

Throttle Position Sensor WHA
Signal, indicating the position of the shutter, comes through a resistor to the controller. This signal has a value that is slightly less than 0.7 V. If the voltage is more than 4 V, the control unit will calculate that the damper is absolutely open. The throttle position sensor is usually mounted on its housing and connected to the axis of rotation. The axis has a special groove, which is in the cross-shaped nest. Actually, DPDZ is fixed by means of two screws.

It is impossible not to mention the non-contact sensorthrottle position. Its purpose is to generate a DC voltage, the data of which is proportional to the opening angle of this damper, as well as the fuel injection system in the engine. The rotation shaft is clockwise. This mechanism is fixed on a special branch (throttle) fuel injection system. There, of course, everything is provided for the implementation of this installation. I want to note that the resource of this product can not be limited to automobile mileage.

Non-contact throttle position sensor

And another topic that I would like to touch upon -this is the throttle position sensor VAZ. On old machines, as you know, the established mechanisms require increased attention. And often, DPDZ becomes worthless. So, this mechanism is defective if:

  1. There are problems at idle.
  2. Turn off transmission - the car engine stalls.
  3. Jumps appear when speed dials.
  4. Idling speed "floats" in almost all modes in which the engine performs its work.

In order to make sure that the FAP does not work,it is necessary to verify it, and it is quite easy to do this. It is necessary to turn on the ignition, and then measure the voltage between the output of the slider and the "mass". If the voltmeter reading is 0.7 V or less, then everything is normal.
