For the first time the Japanese minivan "Nissan Presage" appearedto the light in 1998. It was the first generation of cars that was produced exclusively for the domestic market of Japan. A few years later, the novelty conquered the world market, but still, judging by the experts' opinions, its appearance was a little belated - while the minivan was still in development, its competitors actively competed around the world (these are Honda Odyssey and Mitsubishi Grandis "). But, nevertheless, the debut of the car was quite successful. A year later, in 1999, the company presented to the public a sports version of the minivan called Bassara with a modified design and interior. Both minibuses held the leading positions in the sales ratings, and therefore today we will devote a separate review to them.
Nissan Presage - photo and review of the exterior / interior
The appearance of the novelty did not have anyaggressive forms, it was typical for that time - modest, quiet and family-friendly. In its inner part, there were much more interesting details than in the outer. The main advantage of the salon of the Japanese minivan is the possibility of transformation. Thanks to folding seats the car can be both a full-fledged passenger and a cargo minibus. Thanks to the fact that Nissan Presage had a lot of free space (the body could hold up to 8 passengers), its salon could easily be turned into a mini-office for business negotiations or even a bedroom. The rear doors of the novelty were swing-like, like the expensive European minivans. Finishing materials were plastic (in the style of "wood"), and for an additional payment the buyer was given the opportunity to trim the interior with natural leather. The basic equipment of the car included a GPS-navigation system with a large seven-inch screen, a DVD player and a full electropackage. This equipment is more than enough for fascinating family travel.
Technical specifications
Nissan Presage is manned by three4-cylinder sixteen-valve engines running on 95-th gasoline or diesel fuel. The first gasoline unit had a capacity of 150 horsepower and a working volume of 2338 cubic centimeters. The second engine worked on solar oil and with its volume of 2488 cubic centimeters it developed the same power as the first gasoline engine (150 "horses"). The most advanced unit had a capacity of 220 horsepower and a working volume of 2,998 "cubes". All three powerplants worked paired with automatic or mechanical transmissions for 4 or 5 speeds. Such units are able to disperse the car to 100 kilometers per hour in only 10-11.5 seconds (depending on the engine). This is a worthy indicator for both such a minivan. The fuel consumption of the novelty is also adequate - 9-10 liters of gasoline per 100 km in mixed mode.
Finally I want to say that "Nissan Presage"this is one of the few minivans that combine such qualities as reliable and powerful engines, low fuel consumption, comfortable cabin and excellent speed characteristics.
