Why do you need a vapor recovery system
Gasoline is classified as volatilehydrocarbons, and its vapors are highly volatile. While the engine is running, the gasoline in the tank is a little, but it heats up. In addition, while moving, he sways. These processes accelerate the evaporation of fuel, creating an increased pressure in the tank. Previously, car tanks had only a primitive ventilation system, which simply released a pair through special openings into the atmosphere. Naturally, this did some harm to the environment, and there was no talk about fuel economy at all.
Introduction of gasoline vapor recovery systemallowed to solve these two problems simultaneously. With it, evaporation is not released into the environment in vain, but is used for its intended purpose, i.e. to ensure the operation of the engine.
What is the vapor recovery system
The SuPD in Kalina consists of the following elements:
- bypass and return fuel lines;
- separator;
- adsorber;
- adsorber purge valve.
As you can see, the system is quite simple. Consider the purpose of each of its elements separately.
As for the fuel lines, it is simplytubes for gasoline evaporating from the tank, and also for returning fuel to it. The separator is used to collect and condense vapors. The adsorber is designed to capture those fumes that did not have time to go into a liquid state. How the system works
Fuel evaporation rises and concentratesat the top of the tank. When the pressure in the tank rises, the vapor enters the fuel line, and from there to the separator. There is a process of cooling and condensation. Part of the vapor accumulates on the walls of the separator, goes back to the liquid state and returns to the tank through the return fuel line. Replacing the canister purge valve with "Kalina" after checking and dismounting it is carried out using one tool - a screwdriver with a cross bat.
The device installation procedure is as follows.First of all, we attach gasoline vapor supply hoses to valve nipples. Using a screwdriver, tighten the screws that secure the clamps. Install the valve on the bracket and move it along the guide down to the stop. Connect the wiring harness. Turn on the ignition, start the engine.
