With the onset of the warmer season, manycity residents go to cottages, to the village or just go for a walk in the park or forest. But they do not always care about their own security. Every spring, doctors are sounding the alarm - the population of encephalitic ticks has seriously increased in recent years, so the likelihood of being infected through their bite with a viral disease has also increased. What can infect such a tick?
Symptoms of encephalitis primarily include a strongheadache, fever. Excessive sensitivity to light, nausea and vomiting, weakness, drowsiness, and general lethargy may also occur. Signs of encephalitis may even appear a month after the bite. If after the onset of the above symptoms a person does not go to the doctor, then in the future he may suffer from memory loss, hallucinations, personality changes, as well as seizures and excessive arousal.
What to do to avoid danger?First, you can get vaccinated. Vaccination is carried out in 2 stages, the first of which is in the autumn, it will be necessary to visit the doctor again in early spring. In addition to encephalitis, ticks can be infected by a number of viruses, which are much less common. These microorganisms can cause more serious or simply rare diseases: borreliosis or Lyme disease, babesiosis, monocytic ehrlichiosis and a number of others. That is why, after the discovery of a sticking insect, it is imperative to visit the SES and the infectiologist. The consequences of “dating” with a tick may not be obvious, even doctors sometimes take them for prolonged ARVI. Therefore, it is better not to neglect your health and carefully monitor whether the symptoms of encephalitis and borreliosis will appear.
