Becoming an architect as a professional isdifficult and thorny path. An unprepared entrant will not be able to simply enter and enter this specialty, since already in the first stage he is required to know the basics of drawing and painting. Let's take a closer look at the named profession and its prospects.
About architecture
Architecture is a specialty requiring a completereturn from student. It is not for nothing that in universities students of architects can be distinguished by circles under the eyes and by a tired sleepy look. The curriculum they have is very rich and consists mainly of practical work: projects, drawings, creative tasks.
Usually the student has to learn on the fly.work in such programs as ArchiCad, Photoshop, Artlantis. I do not want to frighten applicants, but when entering this area, you need to be ready to perform a large amount of tasks in a short time, which means at night. One expects you for sure - you will not be bored.

Differences between architect and engineer
Specialty "architecture" and "construction" -these are different things, radically different. Architects mainly develop creative solutions, draw up project documentation, visualize projects, model, evaluate structures. A good specialist must know the building structures and materials, be able to properly distribute the load acting on the building.
Engineers, on the other hand, count and implement architects' projects in the working documentation.

About landscape architecture
This science is a branch of urban planning.The landscape architect works with open urban spaces: squares, embankments, streets, boulevards, parks, squares, etc. That is, the improvement of the area should lie on these specialists. But, as experience shows, the concept of “landscape architecture” is perceived in Russia as the same as “landscape design,” although the latter is only a small part, an instrument of this specialty.
This profession is quite popular in the USA, Canada,Europe. All developed countries have long since switched to the program of sustainable urban development: environmental improvement is possible only through the introduction of nature into the urban environment.

Landscape architecture is a specialty thatthere are in some universities of our country (in St. Petersburg, in Moscow, in Nizhny Novgorod, etc.). It combines engineering, botany and architecture. The trend towards the development of this industry exists in Moscow - new landscape objects are being built here, historical landscape gardening ensembles are being reconstructed, and greening is gaining momentum. But in a crisis, unfortunately, such experts are forgotten, not required.
Landscape students work no less than their ownfellow students of architects. Plus the fact that creative tests are usually not carried out on this orientation. Most graduates working in the direction (architecture is a specialty) are arranged in private landscape bureaus, designing customers' gardens.
About creative trials
As mentioned earlier, applicants are requiredpass the creative tests to go to college. The specialty "architecture" is at the intersection of creativity and engineering, which is why the admission checks for:
- creative focus - the ability to draw from life. Usually, applicants paint Apollo's plaster heads;
- knowledge of composition. It is also a drawing of geometric figures arranged in a composition;
- engineering orientation - drawing. Typically, the applicant must manually draw a drawing of any part, assembly (front view, top view, side view) and build it in perspective or perspective.

It is possible and possible to prepare oneself for such tests, but in practice, the applicants who have attended university preparatory courses receive higher marks.
Undergraduate and graduate programs
Modern university education has moved to a newsystem: most graduates are now graduated not by specialists, but by bachelors. The so-called leveled system has affected training in the architectural direction.
The bachelor is trained under the reduced program, 4of the year. Unfortunately, they are often considered “dropouts” with a higher education. Master's degree allows you to get an initial degree (usually for 2 years). All this is done to save time in order to produce more “practitioners”, but we all know: quality takes time, and the less it is spent, the lower the student’s level of education.
Architecture - a specialty adjacent toconstruction, art, design. It is prestigious enough, but it requires great efforts and skills both from the creative side and from the engineering side. The big competition should not frighten the real architect, because only professionals rise to the top of the career ladder.
