Biography
Ruslan Chagaev was born on the nineteenthOctober 1978 in the city of Andijan, the Uzbek SSR (now the Republic of Uzbekistan). From a young age began to engage in boxing. By the way, Chagaev's pro debut was held on August 21, 1997 against American Donnie Penelton in the city of Aurora (Illinois, USA). In this fight, Ruslan got an easy and unconditional victory.

Professional career

The fight ended in a technical knockout in the eighth round (in the 2nd minute 54 seconds) in favor of the “white Tyson”.

Title fight against Nikolay Valuev took place 14April 2007. Prior to this meeting, both fighters had win-win statistics for the battles. During the match, Ruslan was noticeably superior to the opponent. The fight lasted all 12 rounds, after which the victory was awarded to Chagaev on points. At a press conference after the fight, Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev admitted that his opponent was stronger, and that the decision of the judges considers fair.
