If this statement is projected onto existing modern trucks, one of such universal machines is MAZ-5334, technical characteristics, the carrying capacity of which will be discussed in detail in this article.
Historical reference
This famous car was madeworkers of the Minsk Automobile Plant in the period from 1977 to 1990. Due to its technical capabilities the machine has found its wide application in all spheres of the national economy. The truck is inherently an improved version of the MAZ-5335 and is designed for mounting on the chassis of a variety of bodies or superstructures. Nowadays, the car is no longer produced, but it can be purchased from other people at a fairly reasonable price.
Cabin
MAZ-5334 is equipped with a well thought-out technical pointview of the driver's cabin. Its outer corners are rounded, which has a positive effect on aerodynamic performance. The main lights are not located on the body of the cockpit, like many other models, but on the bumper. Radiator securely closed steel lattice openings which are wide enough to provide the required cooling air inflow. The cabin also has a pair of windscreens, which are separated by a special vertical partition. This design feature ensures the safety of the glass from the driver's side, even if the passenger glass is completely broken.
The driver's wheel is almost vertical.The armchair is equipped with a damping mechanism, which effectively neutralizes any shaking while driving along the nerve tracks. The sensation of any stiffness of the chair is completely absent.
The instrument panel has sensors built into it,signaling to the driver about all available parameters: speed of movement, pressure in the hydraulic system and so on. Between the window and the instrument surface there is a large space that allows you to store there various items and parts, which is actively used by all drivers.

- The permissible weight of the loaded trailer is 13 000 kg.
- The maximum speed is 85 km / h.
- The time required to accelerate to 60 km / h is 50 seconds.
- Fuel consumption - 22 liters are required for every 100 km of the track.
Engine and gearbox
MAZ-5334 is equipped with a six-cylinderlow-speed V-shaped engine YaMZ-236, the power of which varies between 150-300 horsepower. In some cases, the installation of YaMZ-238 was allowed, which could produce up to 420 horsepower while maintaining the same speed.
Gear box was producedthree-way, five-speed. In it, the 2nd and 3rd, as well as the 4th and 5th speeds were fully synchronized. To ensure a stable and long-term engine operation, a six-section injection pump with a built-in injection timing coupling was used.
Modifications Overview
МАЗ-5334 в исполнении «автокран» оснащался special outriggers and torsion-type suspension. As lifting equipment, both non-movable and telescopic arrows were used. For the purpose of increasing the lifting height, jigs were used. The control of the boom came from the driver's cab, which, in turn, was located on a turntable. The load capacity of this machine was 12,500 kg. The operator's work was facilitated by the availability of such additional sensors as:
- Machine angle angle meter and boom position indicator.
- Sensor warning of dangerous voltage.
- Limiter preventing the attempt to raise / lower the load exceeding the permissible value by its own weight.
MAZ-5334 in the performance of the "tanker"was designed to transport large amounts of fuel and conduct other operations with it (for example, pumping liquids). On the frame of the car and chassis was installed a tank, pumps, filtration system, pipelines, instrumentation.
In conclusion, I would like to say that MAZ-5334(photo of the machine is given in the article) and to this day able to perform the tasks assigned to it, although it has already been successfully replaced by younger modern analogues.
