Since the beginning of the 1980s, the Minsk plant for the productiontrucks completely updated the entire lineup of the MAZ range. Thus, MAZ 5336 appeared in 1990. Then they were produced in small batches. Production was established by 1993. Since then, mass production of new machines has started.

Technical data
Originally it was an on-board car withLoad capacity 8 tons and wheel formula 4x2. Such data was owned also by its predecessor, MAZ 500, nicknamed in the people "Ogre" (for the aggressive form of the cabin). After some time at the plant began to produce isothermal vans for novelty. The total weight of the truck was 18 tons. Also the novelty could be completed with a trailer of the same brand. The trailer had a similar mass, volume and carrying capacity. Onboard equipment was a metal base with flaps on the back and sides. The floor was wooden.
Thus, the road train was capable oftransport cargo weighing up to 16 tons (8 per van and the same amount per trailer). However, judging by the reviews, thanks to a powerful turbodiesel engine, the wagon easily pulled and 20 tons of cargo at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour! This goal was pursued by the engineers when creating the new MAZ 5336. Reviews of the gearbox, unlike the engine, were negative: they often broke down, seized and did not want to work at all. But our drivers found a universal solution to this problem, replacing the home box with KAMAZovskuyu divisers. Then it turned out almost perfect car. By the way, the developers took into account this disadvantage and in the following generations used the CAT from the German MAN.

The cabin of the novelty was double with twosleeping bags, which was an ideal option for many car depots: the car was placed immediately 2 drivers. The driver's seat was sprung. Adjusted in different directions: length, height, as well as the angle of inclination of the back. In the salon there was a heating system. The suspension was spring, the brake system was supplied with drum mechanisms.
Engines
Trucks MAZ 5336 are equipped with turbochargedeight-cylinder engines of the YaMZ 238. At that time, turbo-charging for domestic cars was an extreme rarity. The engine capacity is 14.8 liters, the power is 300 horsepower. Thanks to the special design of the parts, the novelty can reach speeds of up to 115 km / h. Despite such a large working volume, fuel consumption was relatively low - 25 liters per 100 kilometers of run. Renewed and fuel pump (high-pressure fuel pump).
